SAA Charity History
The Committee conducted a 3 month long benefit to raise goods and funds for SAFE SHELTER. The shelter was very pleased and thankful for our contributions. The shelter accepts your donations throughout the year. If you have furniture, appliances or other items that you would like to contribute, please contact the Association Office (912) 920-3207 or the Safe Shelter at 629-8888 to arrange for pickup. A list of other items they need is available upon request. This organization is truly helping our community, and depends on the donations of generous individuals and business in our area. Your contributions are tax deductible.
A Bowling For Charity event to benefit Greenbriar Children's Home was held Saturday June 24, 2006. The cost included 2 hours of bowling, bowling shoes and a light lunch and a drink. The committee encouraged everyone come out and bring their friends, and family members, including their children, and to have a good time for a good cause.
We also helped Mr Charles Sapp who was in need of a kidney transplant in 2006 at the October Trade Show. All proceeds went to the National Foundation for Transplants which matched every dollar raised. Checks were made payable to The National Foundation for Transplants with in honor of Mr. Charles Sapp in the memo line. The Committee also held their annual Baskets For Charity Event at the October Trade Show at the International Trade Center with baskets donated by SAA Members and community businesses. The proceeds went to benefit Charles Sapp's kidney transplant.
In 2009 SAA Members generously contributed to the Food and Sundry Drive and the Baskets for Charity event held at the annual October Trade Show. All proceeds from these events went to Union Mission.
The SAA Charitable Service continues to hold its annual Baskets For Charity event which is more successful each year than the previous year.
Other events are being planned for charitable service projects. If you know of someone in our organization who needs assistance that you would like to be considered for assistance, please call
