Dear Community Managers,

The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department, and the Crime Free Housing Coordinator are seeking your help in finding a subject believed to have committed several sexual assaults with in our community.  South side Savannah has had several incidents, similar in nature, of women being abducted from their apartment community parking lot, taken to a separate location and sexually assaulted.

Please notify your tenants to be extremely mindful of persons and vehicles in and around their community.  The suspect is described as a dark skinned, black male, between 5'10" to 6' 2" and weighing between 200 - 230 lbs.  The suspect may be in his mid to late twenties, with short hair and is clean shaven.  It is believed that the suspect is driving a small white car, possibly a Dodge Stratus or Intrepid.

Residents of apartment communities should stay aware of who is around them and have there house key out BEFORE unlocking and exiting their car.  If threatened, the resident should scream or blow the car horn or a whistle.

Anyone with possible information in regards to this lookout is asked to contact the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department’s Special Victims Unit at 651-6742 or Victims Witness at 234-2020.

WSAV will be doing a story of safety issues for apartment community residents at 6:00 PM on today’s date, 9-20-04.

Sincerely,

Star Cpl. Tracy Walden
